Dibrugarh: In a major crackdown on counterfeit currency operations, four individuals were arrested on Tuesday from the Ghulam Patty area of Golaghat town. Police seized sophisticated currency printing equipment and fake notes of various denominations.
The raid led to the arrest of the operation’s mastermind, Dudu Ali, who owned the house where the illegal activities were being conducted. Three of his accomplices — Rajibuddin Ahmed, Chittaranjan Rajkhowa and Chinmoy Mahanta — were also nabbed during the operation. Police recovered a currency note printing machine, blank papers, fake currency notes and a .32 calibre pistol.
