Jhansi: Three class 8 students from a govt school, who have been absent for a fortnight without information, sent a fabricated message to their teacher on Tuesday that they remained absent from school because they had been kidnaped. They were subsequently found in Gwalior.
According to details, the three children in their early teens, live in the Sarmau area within the limits of Raksa police station. They had not been attending school for over a fortnight despite leaving their homes early in the morning.
On Tuesday, after reaching school, they absconded and began wandering outside. A teacher spotted them and inquired about their prolonged absence and asked them to bring their parents.
Fearing of being reprimanded by their parents, the students went to Jhansi railway station and boarded a train to Gwalior after parking their bicycles at the stand.
Upon reaching Gwalior, one boy borrowed a phone to ring his father, claiming they were abducted in a black SUV, taken to Gwalior and drugged.
Alarmed by this news, his father Jiwan Vanskar rushed to the police station with the other parents and registered a complaint. Police acted promptly, traced the number, located the children by late evening and recovered them safely.
Station officer Premendra Singh of Raksa police station said that all three children were safely reunited with their parents.
