T'puram: Parents of nursing student Ammu Sajeev, who died under mysterious circumstances, met chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday. In the meeting, they demanded a comprehensive investigation into her death.
Ammu's parents, after the meeting, said the CM assured them that all suspicions raised by the family would be addressed through the investigation. The family expressed hope that the facts behind Ammu's death would be revealed soon.
Ammu, a final-year student at SM Nursing College in Chuttipara, Pathanamthitta, allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the hostel building on Nov 15. Her parents met the CM and handed over a complaint seeking a detailed probe into the severe negligence by the college authorities.
In addition to the CM, Ammu's family also met health minister Veena George.
In connection with the death, three of Ammu's classmates were earlier arrested for abetment to suicide. The family demands strict action against others, including the nursing college principal. An investigation into Ammu's death is also continuing under Kerala University of Health Sciences. TNN
