Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand has sought cooperation from the citizens, public representatives and political parties in clearing encroachments and obstructions that are leading to traffic congestion on city roads. "Traffic congestion is a major problem the city is facing, but to solve the problem and, for the effective functioning of the traffic police, people should support," he said.
As part of the ongoing ‘Operation ROPE (Removal of Obstructive Parking and Encroachments)', Anand, along with traffic wing officers, inspected the drive at Tolichowki area and witnessed police destroying 1,015 sirens and 525 multi tone horns seized during the past month.
Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin was also invited for the inspection, but he did not turn up. "We have instructed our officers to carry out this operation by taking the support of all public representatives and members of all parties. With their support, we can definitely clear all roads of encroachments," Anand added.
