Patna: A two-year-old boy, who was allegedly abducted by two women from Bakhtiyarpur railway station on November 25, was rescued by police from Barh on Wednesday.
According to a police complaint lodged by the boy's mother Rekha Kumari, a resident of Nalanda district, she was sitting with her husband Mukesh Chaudhary and three children near the inquiry counter on the station premises on Monday evening, when two women started talking to her. The two women deceived her by pretending to help and took the child away from them, she told police.
A case was registered with Bakhtiyarpur GRP, which checked CCTV footage, and found the two women taking away the child towards the local market. The police then started searching for the two women.
Bakhtiyarpur GRP station in charge J P Singh said an unknown person left the abducted child at Bhubhaneshwari Chowk in Barh subdivision of Patna on Wednesday.
"The local people found the child crying, and handed him over to the Bakhtiyarpur GRP. The search for the suspected women who took away the child is going on," said Singh.
