Guwahati: A Meitei man employed as a contractor at an Army base in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district has vanished while travelling to work on Monday morning, triggering unrest, reports Prabin Kalita.
Laishram Kamalbabu Singh (56) is a contractor of the Military Engineering Service (MES) at Leimakhong Army base.
The disappearance of Singh, who lives in Loitang Khunou, has caused considerable distress among locals who have voiced profound apprehension regarding suspected abduction and have urged swift intervention to ensure his safe return.
Police have confirmed that a coordinated search operation involving both constabulary and central forces is presently in progress to trace Singh.
