Lucknow: An executive engineer with the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam, Jai Kar Singh, was booked for corruption following an investigation into disproportionate assets by the Vigilance Establishment on Monday.
Singh, a resident of Govindpuram, Ghaziabad, originally comes from village Sakauti, Pilona, Mawana Tehsil, Meerut district.
The case was registered at the Lucknow Sector Vigilance Police Station under sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the Act.

The action followed a directive from the Vigilance Section-4 of the Uttar Pradesh govt, under which the Lucknow Sector Vigilance Establishment conducted the investigation.
The inquiry revealed that Singh accumulated assets and incurred expenses far exceeding his known and lawful sources of income during his tenure as a public servant. This discrepancy was found to be prima facie evidence of disproportionate assets.
Based on these findings, an FIR was filed, and further action is underway.
