Prayagraj: With the 'city of tents' set to be completed by Dec end at Sangam, the Prayagraj Mela Authority has issued detailed directives for participating organisations. The guidelines stipulate that all organisations must display their names on banners or boards at their camp entrances for identification purposes. These conditions are being included on the facility slip issued by the Mela administration.
The mela administration is allocating land and facilities to approximately 9,500 organisations, including 2,700 new applicants. A dedicated sector is being created for new organisations while existing ones are being accommodated at their previous locations where possible. Allocations have been completed for akharas and Dandi Swami Nagar, and Acharya Bada has been allocated land, with its bhoomi pujan conducted on Tuesday.
"Guidelines have been issued for the institutions getting land and facilities in the Maha Kumbh area. The institutions have to run their camps as per the rules and conditions. All the rules and conditions are mentioned on the facility slip. Action will be taken against the institutions for violating the conditions," said Maha Kumbh Mela Adhikari, Vijay Kiran Anand.
As per the guidelines, visitors to organisational camps must carry photo identification. Single-use plastic is prohibited, and commercial activities within camps are forbidden, with immediate eviction for violations. Organisations must settle only in their designated areas or face expulsion from Maha Kumbh.
Organisations must establish camps within their allocated sectors. Night-time loudspeaker use is strictly prohibited between 10pm and 6am, with violations resulting in blacklisting. Sound must be contained within camp boundaries, with a maximum of two speakers permitted, facing inwards.
Additional regulations prohibit transfer of facilities between institutions, use of heaters, blowers, and immersion rods in camps. Activities opposing established religious beliefs and customs are forbidden. Notably, pandals provided by the fair administration must remain accessible to devotees during main bathing festivals.
