Lucknow: A ‘Pink Scooter Rally' was organised on Monday by the girl students of Lucknow University in collaboration with the Lucknow police.
The rally was flagged off by the LU vice-chancellor Alok Rai and Mission Shakti nodal officer Manini Srivastava on the foundation day of Mission Shakti Phase-5.
Rai said that in alignment with chief minister Yogi Adityanath's vision, the rally aimed to raise awareness about women's safety across the state.

Over 250 pink scooters participated, including many girl students and women police officers, showcasing the collective commitment to the cause.
The primary objective of the rally was to raise awareness about women's safety. Srivastava emphasised that the Mission Shakti campaign has empowered women in the state, making them feel safer and more confident.
She shared that the rally commenced at the 1090 crossing, passing through Hanuman Setu temple, Hazratganj chauraha, governor house and Loreto crossing.
Rai highlighted that the rally is an integral part of the Mission Shakti campaign, focusing on promoting women's safety, dignity, and self-reliance. He also stressed the importance of collective efforts between educational institutions, the police department, and the community for advancing women's empowerment.
Srivastava highlighted that LU is extending its efforts beyond the campus, collaborating with the Lucknow police to amplify the message of Mission Shakti.
