KALYAN: A fire broke out on the 15th floor of the 23-storey Vertex building in Kalyan. Initial information suggests that the fire was caused by a gas cylinder blast. Some people are feared to be trapped in the building.
The fire started in the house of a hotelier named Santosh Shetty, who lives on the 15th floor of the building.
After receiving information about the incident, the Kalyan Fire Department vehicle reached the spot. Due to the smoke from the fire, some people living on the top floor of the building are said to be trapped, and rescue work has started for them.
The fire is so big that it has spread to a flat next to it.
