Patiala: Jails minister Laljit Singh Bhullar on Monday announced that gangsters and prisoners with a history of organised crime will be lodged in a high-security facility under construction near Jagraon. The initiative aims to dismantle criminal networks operating within the prisons. The minister, speaking at the passing-out parade of 132 warders and 4 matrons at the Punjab Jail Training School in Patiala, said new jails in Punjab will be constructed at least a kilometre from populated areas and fitted with jammers and AI cameras.
