Lucknow: A speeding UPSRTC bus ran over two bike riders in Sarojininagar on Sunday morning. One youth died on the spot, while the other was injured. Both were on their way to work. The driver abandoned the bus and fled.
The bus hit the bike riders in Darogakheda of Sarojininagar and both youths fell on the road. Suryapal, 20, died on the spot, while pillion rider Atul Yadav was injured.Suryapal, resident of Asoha in Unnao, worked as labourer in Transportnagar.
Police reached the spot and sent both youths to the hospital. Doctors declared Suryapal dead, while Atul was discharged after first aid.
Sarojininagar police inspector Rajdev Ram Prajapati said postmortem of the deceased was done and the body was handed over to the family and a case was in the process of being filed against the roadways drivers.
