Lucknow: A one-day conference on "Issues and Challenges Before District Judiciary" was organised on Sunday, by the Judicial Training & Research Institute (JTRI), Lucknow. The event saw participation from all district judges, senior additional district judges, newly recruited civil judges, judicial officers posted at the district court, Lucknow, and those posted at Lucknow on a deputation basis.
The conference, held at the JTRI Auditorium, was inaugurated by Justice Vikram Nath, Judge, Supreme Court of India, in the august presence of Justice Arun Bhansali, Chief Justice, Allahabad High Court.

The event was also attended by Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta, senior judge, Allahabad HC; Justice Attau Rahman Masoodi, senior judge, Allahabad HC (Lucknow bench); and Justice Bajal Roy, judge & chairman, supervisory committee, JTRI.
In his address, Justice Vikram Nath said that the trial courts of UP had always been the best and continued to uphold this standard. He emphasized ten qualities that every judge must possess, including impartiality, honesty, knowledge, patience, decisiveness, empathy, and resilience.
Meanwhile, Justice Arun Bhansali quoted Justice John Marshall, who stated that the power of the judiciary lies not in deciding cases, nor in imposing sentences or punishing for contempt, but in the trust, confidence, and faith of the common man.
