CHENNAI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday said it had received a total of 14,000,615 applications during four days of special camps conducted in Tamil Nadu for inclusion, deletion, linking of Aadhaar with EPIC, modification and transposition of entries.
The special camps were conducted on Nov 16, 17, 23 and 24.
A total of 2.64 lakh applications were received on Nov 16, 4.21 lakh applications on Nov 17, 2.73 lakh applications on Nov 23 and 4.41 lakh applications on Nov 24.
Out of the total 14 lakh applications, the majority (8.38 lakh) were related to new registration of general voters above the age of 18.
