Surat: A man has been arrested for killing his 85-year-old mother late on Monday evening after they had an argument over the making of dinner at Panchsheelnagar in the Khatodara police station jurisdiction here.
Deputy commissioner of police (Zone 4) Vijaysinh Gurjar told mediapersons: "The 85-year-old victim, Vrundavan Biswal, lived with her son, Gandhi Biswal.In the evening, when Biswal's wife went to work, he had a heated argument with his mother over making dinner. During the argument, he attacked his mother with a pestle. As he hit her with the pestle on her head, she died on the spot."
Biswal is from Odisha and works as a labourer in Surat. Police arrested him and sent the body for a postmortem.
