Hazaribag: One police jawan died and four others suffered serious injuries after a truck hit them at Chouparan near NH-2 on Monday. The truck driver has been arrested, police said.
The deceased cop was identified as Ajay Dubey, police added.
Hazaribag SP Arvind Kumar Singh, who visited the scene, said, "The incident occurred at 5am when the JAP-7 battalion personnel were on patrolling duty.We transferred the victims to the community heath centre located in Chouparan, whcih referred them to the Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital in Hazaribag."
The four injured personnel are in a critical condition, sources in the hospital said.
A case has been registered against the driver for negligent driving and the truck seized, police added.
