Panaji: The high court of Bombay at Goa on Monday directed govt to revise the pay scale along with arrears in favour of the ‘Group D’ employees of the directorate of health services.
The high court directed govt to pay them the arrears from Jan 1, 2016, till date, within six months, along with a revised salary.
The employees approached the high court in March this year, challenging their pay scales. Considering they were appointed in 2009 and 2010 and accepted a lesser pay scale without any protest over the years, they approached the high court only in March 2023.
The high court granted them arrears from Jan 1, 2016, along with pay fixation benefits under Seventh Pay Commission recommendation.
Advocates Shashikant Joshi and Swapna Joshi represented the petitioners in the high court.
