Chandigarh: The All Haryana Road Safety Quiz Competition-2024 was successfully organised in schools and colleges across the state on Sunday. Over 44 lakh students participated in the competition, setting a record and spreading the message of road safety. Director General of Police, Shatrujeet Kapoor, said that students are the most powerful medium to create awareness about road safety and traffic rules.

“Through this quiz competition, students will not only be aware of road safety themselves but will also share important information about following traffic rules with their parents,” he said.

Kullu: Himachal chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday released the book ‘Loh Purush Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Ka Jeevanvrit’, authored by Rakesh Kumar Sharma, at his official residence, Oak Over. The CM lauded the author’s efforts and stated that the book offers readers an in-depth understanding of Sardar Patel’s personality, his role in India’s freedom struggle, and his significant contributions to nation-building. Rakesh Kumar Sharma is a resident of Hamirpur district serving as an assistant professor at Sardar Patel University, Mandi. A former research fellow at the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), New Delhi, Sharma has authored several notable books.

Kullu: Mrs India runner-up Akshita Sharma called on chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday, and shared her experiences about the competition. The CM congratulated Akshita on her remarkable achievement, praising her for bringing laurels to Himachal Pradesh. Akshita, a native of Rohru in Shimla district, is working as a banker in Chandigarh. Akshita was accompanied by her husband Pradhyut Sunta, their son Abir, and other family members during the meeting.
