District collector Vipin Itankar revealed key activities during a preparatory meeting regarding the initiatives on Sunday. At 8am, senior officials and committee members will read the Constitution's Preamble at Samajik Nyay Bhavan. A special lecture on the Constitution by additional district collector Tushar Thombre is scheduled for 4pm at Niyaz Bhavan, targeting govt officials and employees.
Throughout the year, activities will focus on instilling the importance of constitutional values among school and college students. Awareness campaigns will address fundamental rights, duties, social justice and democratic principles. The initiative also seeks to foster unity, brotherhood, and secular values through inclusive participation.
A district-level committee, led by Itankar, has been formed to oversee the celebrations. Its members include senior officials from various departments, such as education, social welfare, sports and child development. The resident deputy collector will act as the committee's member secretary, with the assistant commissioner of social welfare as the joint member secretary.
Itankar also emphasised that the yearlong Amrit Mahotsav of the Constitution aims to make constitutional values a part of daily life for every citizen. By engaging students and citizens alike, the initiative promises to strengthen democratic awareness and social harmony across the district.
