Varanasi: Addressing a huge gathering of devotees attending Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha at Satuwa Baba Goshala in the Domari area on Monday, chief minister Yogi Adityanath took a jibe at the opposition by mentioning, "This grand congregation is a response to those who divide on the lines of caste, region, language and other ideologies."
On his maiden Kashi visit after the results of assembly bypolls, Yogi reached Domari on the opposite bank of the Ganga to take part in the Shiv Mahapuran discourse by Pandit Pradeep Mishra.

Yogi said, "This grand scene of the story is enough to open their eyes. It symbolises Sanatan Dharma, a microcosm of India and social equality for us. Where is casteism, communalism or the dispute over worship methods? We are all united, dedicating ourselves as warriors of faith for the fulfilment of our national duty through this discourse. Yogi said this grand congregation is enough to open the eyes of those who divide based on caste, region, and language.
Yogi praised Satuwa Baba Ashram authorities for choosing such a location from where one can have a glimpse of Lord Vishwanath, Lord Bhairavnath, Maa Ganga and Goddess Annapurna. Here, not only devotees but also deities are listening to the discourse. Yogi said that through these sacred tales, national unity is strengthened and the nation's faith is fortified. Our aim should be towards our deities, gods and society, but our ultimate goal should be to ensure that no one challenges the unity and integrity of the nation, as it is the foundation for preserving the country's faith, society, and sacred storytelling traditions.
Before the Prayagraj Kumbh 2025, he said, a congregation like Kumbh is evident at this discourse. The world's largest spiritual and social gathering, 'Maha Kumbh-2025,' is set to take place on the sacred land of Prayagraj from Jan 13 to Feb 26 (Paush Purnima to Mahashivratri). The greatest hallmark of a true devotee is discipline, said Yogi, mentioning that those who have self-discipline also have control over material possessions. He also recalled Maharishi Ved Vyas, who taught the path of righteousness and compiled the four Vedas for future generations. Yogi said, "He established the tradition of 'Guru-Shishya (disciple)' tradition for the preservation of the Vedas. He led the team of the epic Mahabharata, which consists of one lakh verses. The Srimad Bhagavat Mahapurana, a wonderful confluence of knowledge, devotion and renunciation, which holds the secret to life's success, was given by Ved Vyas."
