PATIALA: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Sangrur police have apprehended two individuals allegedly involved in the illicit drug trade. The operation resulted in the seizure of substantial quantities of narcotics, including 1 kg and 20 gm of heroin, 10 kg of poppy husk, and drug money amounting to Rs 4.15 lakh. Additionally, a car and a scooter were confiscated from the possession of the accused.
The arrested individuals, identified as Davinder Singh alias Gaggi from Sherpur and Hardeep Singh from Longowal, have been implicated in previous criminal cases.

According to the police, Davinder Singh has been booked in nine cases, while Hardeep Singh faces charges in two cases, indicating their involvement in illegal activities.
The police claim that the arrests were made based on a tip-off during a routine checking operation near the Sherpur area. The accused were allegedly planning to distribute the seized drugs to customers in various villages, highlighting the pervasive nature of the drug menace in the region.
