Ranchi: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) emphasised the need for a politically stable govt making business-friendly policies.
FJCCI president Paresh Gattani said, "The new govt must focus on fostering a conducive atmosphere for the industries. Ranchi has untapped potential in the manufacturing, IT and service sectors. We hope the elected leadership prioritises infrastructure development and simplification of business policies."
Highlighting concerns about the "mandi" tax, Ghattani said, "It is regrettable that vendors are required to pay two per cent tax for occupying spaces at state's vegetable market."
Dinesh Prasad, a construction company director, emphasised the urgent need to address sand availability and pricing issues. "Usually, sand should cost Rs 200 to Rs 400 per tonne, but it costs Rs 1,000 to Rs 1200 per tonne despite Jharkhand having numerous sand ghats," he lamented.
