Mysuru: District unit members of Samyukta Horata Karnataka, the joint committee of trade unions, have decided to hold a public protest rally and a convention in Mysuru on Nov 26, extending support to the nationwide call given by Samyukta Kisan Morcha. This event marks the fourth anniversary of the yearlong struggle by farmers' associations against the Union govt's farm laws.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, convener of Samyukta Horata Karnataka, Jagadeesh Surya, said that a protest rally will be taken out in the city from the Town Hall at 11am.

The public convention will also be held near Gandhi Square.
The convention aims to sensitise people about the controversial farm laws, the APMC Act, the Anti-Cow Slaughter Act, and other farm laws introduced by the govt against the interests of farmers.
He condemned the Union govt for amending the merger of 48 labour laws into four labour codes, increasing the work hours to 12 hours from eight hours.
He also accused chief minister Siddaramaiah of not keeping his promise to withdraw farm laws he promised before the assembly elections, even though the Union govt withdrew the farm laws.
