Gorakhpur: UP Forest and Environment Minister Arun Saxena and Superior Industries Limited (SIL) MD Manish Agrawal on Saturday distributed advanced maize seeds free of cost to promote maize cultivation among farmers. The event was organized at the SIL plant premises in Sant Kabir Nagar. Minister Saxena, the chief guest, emphasized the importance of agroforestry and praised SIL for supporting agricultural and economic growth. He highlighted India's rapid development under PM Modi and CM Yogi, envisioning a self-reliant nation.
SIL MD Manish Agrawal outlined the company's efforts to support farmers and enhance ethanol production. He announced SIL's target of cultivating maize on 201 acres this year, with initial distribution to over 50 farmers. Additionally, a two-acre sugar-free maize plantation was initiated in Sant Kabir Nagar under MB Integrated Foundation's Amitabh Pandey.
