Rourkela: The district programme manager (DPM) of Sundargarh will conduct an inquiry into an allegation against a woman security guard at Rajgangpur community health centre (CHC) who has been accused of taking Rs 60,000 from a widow under the pretence of giving her a job.
The 34-year-old widow, Fulkeria Tirkey, worked as a sweeper at the CHC for 19 days before she was ousted.

"I came to know about the allegation today and we will call the woman to provide a written complaint. We will conduct the necessary inquiry into her allegation and further action will be taken from our side," DPM Shankar Acharya said on Sunday.
According to reports, Tirkey resides in Jampali under Rajgangpur police station limits with her two sons. Her husband died in 2014 and since then, she was struggling to make ends meet. She contacted Julie, her friend who works as a security guard at Rajgangpur CHC, and asked her to arrange her a job. Julie allegedly told her to give Rs 60,000 to secure a job at the CHC. Fulkeria brought Rs 60,000 by mortgaging her land and borrowing money, and gave the amount and some documents to Julie in July. Fulkeria was then given a job as a sweeper at Rajgangpur CHC by an outsourcing agency.
After working there for 19 days, Fulkeria fell ill and could not come to work. When she recuperated and returned, she was not allowed to work as she was ousted from the job. Another person had been placed in her position at the CHC. When she asked the manager there, she was told to go to the Sundargarh-based office. Fulkeria then demanded her Rs 60,000 back from Julie but the latter started avoiding her. She even switched off her mobile, prompting her to raise a complaint.
