Jamshedpur: National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) poor electoral performance in Jharkhand isn't the end of their political journey, BJP leader and former chief minister Champai Soren said on Sunday.
Speaking to media, Champai acknowledged that victories and defeats are natural in politics. "There's no end to the political journey. Probably we failed to convince people and effectively convey our message to voters," he said, adding the opposition camp (INDIA bloc) had misled people to secure votes.
The BJP leader announced plans to launch a significant campaign against alleged illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the state, focusing particularly on protecting tribal lands.

"With elections now over, I will initiate a movement against infiltrators from Santhal Pargana. I have taken up the responsibility to protect the honour of the adivasis and restore their rights," Soren declared. His comments came within hours of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma issuing a video message appealing to continue with the issue of infiltration in a strong way.
He criticized Hemant govt's policies, holding them responsible for unchecked illegal immigration. "The BJP will battle it out both in the assembly and on the streets to get the flawed policies of the govt removed so that the infiltration is stopped," he emphasized, adding the party would soon formulate an action plan.
Commenting on his seventh consecutive victory from the Seraikela (ST) seat, the 68-year-old leader expressed gratitude to his constituents. "The people have voted for me not to sit in power but to work towards improving the lives of the poor and marginalized," he stated.
Soren outlined his commitment to accelerating infrastructure projects in his constituency that were initiated during his previous term. He assured that the party would thoroughly analyse the recent electoral outcome to identify areas that need improvement.
The veteran leader predicted that his movement against illegal immigrants would create significant impact in tribal areas and influence the broader political landscape. The BJP plans to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the poll results to understand where they fell short and develop strategies for future electoral success.
"Development of the constituency remains my priority," Champai said.
