Hyderabad: Telangana high court has dismissed pleas challenging GO 33 issued by the state govt for constituting Indiramma committees at panchayat level and municipal wald Level for implementing the Indiramma Indlu programme.
Justice Nagesh Bheempaka, after hearing the contentions of the petitioners as well as the govt, said the govt has discretionary powers to implement the beneficial schemes under a policy decision and the same cannot be interfered with by this court.
However, liberty was given to petitioners to approach the court in case it is found that the said scheme is being implemented contrary to its object for which it is launched.
Two pleas were filed complaining that the GO (issued on Oct 11 this year) mentioned that the committees would be constituted without reference to gram sabhas and ward committees which the petitioners said was against the provisions of the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018 and Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019.
