Ahmedabad: The Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh has written to the state education minister seeking appointment of gyan sahayaks to positions that fell vacant due to teachers retiring on Oct 31.
The associate also demanded that schools be given autonomy in selecting temporary teaching staff until permanent appointments are made. It mentioned that vacancy rate of teaching staff in rural areas is is 25-30% and urban is 15-20%.TNN
