Gandhinagar: Ministers and bureaucrats of the state govt participated in a session on deep-tech, data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) on Friday, the second day of the chintan shibir or brainstorming session of the state govt in Gir Somnath district. An official statement said that the session aimed to leverage AI for more effective governance.
The statement said that Jigar Halani, director of Solution Architect & Engineering at Nvidia, spoke to ministers and bureaucrats about ways in which new-age technologies like AI, deep tech and data analytics can help the govt implement public welfare campaigns and improve the delivery of services to the people. CM Bhupendra Patel, chief secretary Raj Kumar, all state ministers, and senior bureaucrats attended the session.
Halani spoke about how Gujarat can be turned into a "model AI" state if efforts are made in that direction, the release said. He said thanks to AI, people are able to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popular radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat' in 23 languages. Halani also gave a detailed presentation on how technology can be used to deliver the benefits of govt schemes.
In view of Gujarat's rich culture and heritage, he also elaborated on the use of AI to popularise local art, expand businesses, and provide employment to local artisans. Halani's presentation also focused on steps the govt can take to increase the use of AI and how this technology can provide employment opportunities to the youth of Gujarat at the local level.
