Panaji: The high court of Bombay at Goa on Thursday directed the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) to expeditiously dispose of show cause notices issued by it against nightclubs in Anjuna which were found to be violating noise rules.
During the hearing, the board told the high court that they found, via the online noise monitoring system, that a few clubs violated noise pollution rules. The board also informed the court that some clubs that had installed noise monitoring systems were found exceeding the prescribed decibel levels, and were issued show cause notices. The court directed the board to dispose of the show cause notices within the specified time frame. The court also asked the clubs to share data from their real-time noise monitoring systems with the police so that they are aware of the violations.
