Jind: Missing posters of Julana Congress MLA Vinesh Phogat have gone viral on social media platforms. These posters, put up on various platforms, mention that a search is on for the missing MLA, and urge anyone who spots her to inform the residents of Julana.
Vinesh Phogat, who had faced a setback at the Paris Olympics when she was disqualified from the 50kg women’s wrestling final, later joined the Congress Party after resigning from her position as an OSD (Officer on Special Duty) for sports in the Railways. She was inducted into the party by its general secretary K.C. Venugopal in Delhi. Notably, the Haryana Assembly held a four-day session that ended on Nov 19, but Vinesh Phogat, a first-time MLA, was absent throughout the session. She was reportedly busy campaigning for Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad and later for the Congress in Maharashtra. After the conclusion of her campaign, these posters started circulating online.
It is being reported that BJP workers are behind their circulation. The poster reads, "Looking for the missing MLA. The entire assembly session has passed, but Madam MLA has been absent throughout. If anyone sees her, please inform the people of Julana."
Notably, in the recently concluded 2024 Assembly elections, Vinesh Phogat defeated BJP's Captain Yogesh Bairagi by 6,015 votes, securing 65,080 votes compared to Bairagizs 59,065. The INLD-BSP candidate Surender Lather received 10,158 votes, while AAP’s former WWE wrestler Kavita Dalal managed only 1,280 votes. Captain Yogesh Bairagi, the BJP candidate defeated by Vinesh, commented on the matter, stating that anyone could circulate such posters.
