Thiruvananthapuram: A one stop facility (OSF) centre initiative has been introduced in Parassala and Perunkadavila blocks in the district to expand the scope of micro-enterprise activities implemented through Kudumbashree.
This follows the central approval received for the financial year 2023-24. The project will assist numerous entrepreneurs in the micro-enterprise sector to expand their business and increase their income. This is being implemented as part of the state govt's fourth 100-day action plan.
The project will provide development services for existing enterprises, ideation and support for starting and growing new enterprises, necessary infrastructure for setting up and operating businesses, various training programmes for entrepreneurs, and support for marketing and loan availability.
Another OSF centre is being implemented in Haripad and Ambalappuzha blocks in Alappuzha district.
The OSF centres in the state have been allocated a total of Rs 11.06 crore, with Rs 5.53 crore for each centre. Of this, Rs 6.64 crore is the central share, and Rs 4.42 crore is the state share. The duration of an OSF project is three years. Each OSF centre will support 150 enterprise units during this period.
The OSF centres have been established as part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission project implemented in the state through Kudumbashree. They function as business-cum-incubation centres at the block level to provide business services to existing enterprises.
