Daltonganj: Security measures have been intensified in Daltonganj for the November 23 counting of votes at GLA College. The exit poll results have generated uncertainty amongst both the NDA and INDIA bloc camps following the end of two-phased voting for assembly polls in Jharkhand on Wednesday.
SP Reeshma Ramesan said 700 police personnel, including CRPF and quick response teams, would be deployed during the counting. Vigilance by security forces would continue during post-counting period, she added.
Historical records show that post-counting conflicts between winning and losing supporters have been common in rural Palamu. Police will monitor public alcohol consumption across the five assembly constituencies during celebrations.
Nodal officer Md Jawed Hussain said, "Counting assistants, counting supervisors, and micro observers along with multi-purpose peons have been asked to report to the counting venue on November 23rd at 5.30 am. The administration has arranged parking facilities divided into three categories."
