Hyderabad: Former minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday criticised the Congress govt, alleging that it has failed to address the conditions in govt schools and residential welfare educational institutions, leading to multiple food-poisoning incidents.
His remarks came in light of the hospitalisation of several students from the zilla parishad high school at Maganoor in Narayanpet district due to food-poisoning on Wednesday. He called for the immediate transfer of the affected students to Hyderabad for better medical treatment.
In a series of posts on X, Harish Rao denounced the condition of gurukuls, attributing their decline to the Congress govt. "Under this administration, children are battling for their lives in hospitals instead of learning in classrooms. How many more lives must be lost before the Revanth Reddy govt takes action," he questioned.
He said CM Revanth had shown disregard for education and the welfare of SC, ST, and minority communities, noting that the CM has not convened a single review meeting on these critical issues. "His negligence has led to the tragic deaths of 42 students in just 11 months," he alleged.
