Jaipur: Chairing a review meeting of Public Works Department (PWD) on Tuesday, deputy CM and PWD minister Diya Kumari said the condition of roads in Rajasthan had never been so bad as it was now.
"The minister said that never in Rajasthan had the condition of roads deteriorated to the extent as it had in the last five years," discolsed an official who was present at the meeting.
"Officials should resolve that in the next one year they will repair existing roads and make them world-class. If we all together make this work 100% successful, it will be a great convenience for people," Kumari said while addressing the review meet held at Nirman Bhavan.
The minister also directed officials to make regular field visits to inspect construction work and take strict action if they find any deficiency.
"If the projects are taking time to complete due to inter-departmental issues, then the officers concerned should hold regular talks with other departments and get those cases resolved. We should increase the pace of our work and avoid unnecessary delays," Kumari said.
The progress of important projects including Jaipur Ring Road was reviewed at the meet.
