COIMBATORE: A gym owner was found dead inside a steam bathroom at his gym in Gugai near Salem city on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as M Mahadir Mohammed, 36, of Fort in Salem. He was running a gym at Gugai.
Shevapet police said his family found him unresponsive when they went looking for him after he did not return home and failed to answer their phone calls. They rushed him to the Salem Government Hospital, however, doctors declared him dead.
Police said Mahadir, who used to exercise for hours together in the gym, might have suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Police have collected CCTV camera footage from the gym.
A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
