Kingshuk Mitra, who previously served as the Head of Ad Sales, Sports at Disney Star, will now take on the role of overseeing Agency Relations for the consolidated network at JioStar.
With over two decades of experience, Kingshuk is a results-driven executive known for leading large-scale digital business transformations across the APAC region. His expertise spans key markets, including India, the Philippines, Singapore, Australia, and Indonesia.
Prior to Disney Star, Mitra was with WPP for more than sixteen years. He joined the company in 2007 as Client Leader at Maxus India and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Managing Director of Maxus/GroupM Philippines. His last role at WPP was Chief Operating Officer (COO) for APAC at Essence (GroupM).
Before his time at WPP, Mitra was Media Group Head at Madison World from January 2006 to August 2007.
Earlier in his career, Mitra served as Research and Investment Manager at Emami Ltd from June 2004 to December 2005. During this time, he set up an independent in-house media arm, capable of handling strategic planning, implementation, and buying.
He also had an earlier stint at WPP in April 2002 as Business Manager at Mindshare India, specializing in media activation and planning.
