Ahmedabad: Under state govt's Saraswati Sadhna scheme, Class 9 girl students from reserved categories are eligible to receive a bicycle. However, girl students from 82 schools in Ahmedabad district have not received bicycles due to the indifference of school administrators.
Sources said the schools never submitted applications to get bicycles under the scheme.
Following multiple complaints, the tribal development department issued an order asking these schools to apply in the next seven days. The department also sent the list of these 82 schools, which failed to apply, to the district education officers, asking them to ensure that they apply in a week.
