Thiruvananthapuram: The 20-year-old girl who went missing from Karunagappally in Kollam was found at Muringoor Divine Retreat Centre, Thrissur, on Wednesday afternoon.
A CCTV visual of her arrival at Karunagappally railway station helped police trace her, as it was found that she got down at Divine Nagar railway station on a Memu train. In the meantime, a priest at the centre identified her from the images shared through the media and informed the police.
Aiswarya, 20, of Marakkasseril at Alappad, went missing after being scolded by her mother on Monday. Aishwarya was preparing to qualify for NEET and she joined an online coaching programme recently.
She carried a mobile phone with her, but it remained switched off t.
After finding that she was in the retreat centre, police contacted the staff there. Soon, a team of police from Koratty station reached there and she was shifted to the station.
The parents of Aishwarya and a team of Karunagappally police reached Koratty station by night to bring the woman back. After clearing necessary procedures and presenting her before a magistrate, the woman will be allowed to go with her parents.
Police said she was in the retreat centre all these days as there are facilities for food and stay. "When she was a child, we used to visit the centre and she is familiar with the place. I still don't know what prompted her to flee as I only asked her to focus more on studies. Anyway, I am happy that we could get her back," said Sheeja, mother of Aishwarya.
