Days after the Telangana government asked Diljit Dosanjh not to sing songs that promote alcohol, drugs and violence, the actor-singer reacted to the notice at his Ahmedabad concert. He promised he would stop singing songs about alcohol the day every state becomes a dry state.
He also proposed the government declare a ‘dry day’ during his concerts to make it easy for him to tweak the lyrics. “Diljit Dosanjh will stop singing songs about alcohol the day every state becomes a dry state, I promise. Let me give you another opportunity and a better offer. Whenever my shows take place, just try to declare a dry day for a day and I won't sing a single song about alcohol. Changing lyrics will become simple," he said. The 40-year-old also poked fun at other states and spoke about the Bollywood songs and advertisements in connection to alcohol. ‘Don't poke me. I quietly do my programme and leave,” he added.
Meanwhile, acknowledging Gujarat's dry state rules, Diljit refrained from singing alcohol-themed songs during his performance in Ahmedabad.
This came just a few days after Diljit Dosanjh during his Hyderabad concert was seen hilariously tweaking lyrics of his popular songs, changing a few words like ‘daru’ to ‘coke’ and ‘theka’ to ‘hotel,’ turning the controversy into a light-hearted moment on the internet.

Diljit's address to the audience wasn't the only thing that has gone viral. Another video from the concert shows Diljit reacting to a group of fans watching his show from a hotel balcony without tickets.
In the video, a visibly surprised Diljit stops the performance midway, looking ahead before gesturing toward the hotel. After asking his team to stop the music, the singer directly pointed out to the hotel guests and said, "Yeh jo hotel ke balcony pe baithe hai, aapka toh bada acha view hai. Yeh hotel wale game kar gaye. Without tickets, huh?" he commented, before resuming his performance amid loud cheers.
After Ahmedabad, Diljit Dosanjh will perform in Lucknow on November 22. Then, he will travel to Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh, and finally Guwahati before wrapping up the tour.
