Motihari: Unidentified criminals on Monday night attacked two customer service point (CSP) operators, killing one near Semuapur bridge under Dumariyaghat police station area in East Champaran district.
Police said the criminals shot dead the CSP operator of a private bank, Anish Kumar (26), and looted his motorcycle and money near Semuapur bridge.
The police identified the body through Anish's cellphone and Aadhaar card and informed his family members at Lohari village in Saran district.
Following the incident, SP Swarn Prabhat suspended the SHO of Dumariyaghat police station. He also constituted a SIT team, headed by the SDPO of Chakiya, Satyendra Prasad Singh, to investigate the case and arrest the criminals.
In another incident, criminals attempted to snatch cash from one Akshay Kumar, a CSP operator of a govt bank, near Shambhutola under Turkauliya police station area. They opened fire at him, but he luckily escaped unhurt. The criminals took away his laptop and cellphone. While Jitesh Kumar, DSP-II is investigating the case, two persons have been arrested by the police in this connection.
