Gorakhpur: Gorakhpur is abuzz with preparations for the 70th National Convention of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Ahead of the event, the welcome committee was officially announced during a press conference held on Tuesday at DDU Gorakhpur University.
Mayor Manglesh Srivastava has been appointed as the committee chairman, while social worker Kameshwar Singh will serve as the committee secretary. ABVP's national general secretary Yagyavalkya Shukla, Goraksh Prant president Dr Rakesh Pratap Singh, Prant secretary Mayank Rai, and national executive member Soumya Gupta were also present at the press meet. Shukla highlighted that the convention serves as a vital platform for discussions on key student issues such as admissions, examinations, and results. It will also address pressing topics like education quality, food adulteration, and the Manipur violence. Proposals on these matters will be debated and passed during the event.
A grand venue has been constructed for the convention, featuring symbols reflecting Indian heritage. On Nov 22, Zoho Corporation CEO Sridhar Vembu will inaugurate the event, while CM Yogi Adityanath will attend the Yashwantrao Kelkar Youth Award ceremony on Nov 24. Committee Secretary Singh added that ABVP continues to empower students and lead transformative initiatives across the nation.
