Ahmedabad: The water and sewerage committee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Tuesday approved a Rs 36.30 crore project to construct a rainwater harvesting structure with eco-blocks near Bandhan Triangular junction on SG Road in Gota ward. The comprehensive plan includes building a stormwater pumping station to enhance water management.
The areas near Bandhan triangular junction regularly face flooding during the monsoon, creating difficulties for citizens residing there. After a site inspection, the AMC has decided to build a stormwater pumping station on a 1,034 sq m plot, complemented by installing a stormwater line.
The project includes a connected stormwater network linked to the pumping station. The authorities opted for a rainwater harvesting structure incorporating eco-blocks to resolve the persistent waterlogging concerns in the area.
