Thiruvananthapuram: Marayamuttam police on Tuesday began a probe after a 33-year-old civil police officer died by suicide at her house due to unidentified reasons. She was found hanging at her house on Monday.
Suji of Viji Bhavan near Chulliyoor at Perumkadavila, was a civil police officer with Parassala railway police, and police said there was no work-related pressure she was facing.
"In the preliminary postmortem report, the cause of death was stated due to hanging," said police.
However, the factors that led to her suicide are yet to be identified. "We are checking her call details to find whether she was facing any other external issues. The social media profiles of the accused have also been examined," said police.
It was also learned that she was seen upset for the past couple of days. She, recently, even consulted a doctor for excess hair loss. "She was worried, believing that the excess hair loss was an indication of some health issues. She even told her father about this," said police.
She is survived by her husband and twin sons.
Marayamuttam police registered a case under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita for unnatural death.
