Ahead of the second phase of voting on Nov 20, Assam CM and BJP's co-in-charge for state polls here, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday returned to Assam in the morning hoping that Nov 23 verdict will swing in their favour.
In his parting note, talking to reporters outside the Ranchi airport, Himanta hailed Jharkhand for its rousing welcome.
"Over the past four months, Jharkhand has truly felt like a second home to me. I also got an opportunity to learn about the wonderful heritage of the state which is blessed in abundance with natural beauty," said the firebrand leader, unwilling to make any political comments citing imposition of silence period.
All through the high-octane campaigning, he was mostly in the spotlight — either for his controversial statements or seething attacks on the opposition camp. "While I may have made a few adversaries during this period, they are far outnumbered by the friendships I've forged across this vibrant state. I hope that I will get an opportunity to again come back when the verdict is out," he signed out.
