Bhubaneswar: More than 300 delegates attended Odisha govt's investment roadshow in Singapore on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in its international outreach efforts. The event, led by chief minister Mohan Majhi, showcased investment opportunities across multiple sectors to potential investors from Asean countries.
"Odisha is ready to lead India's growth story," declared CM Majhi during the interactive session. "With our rich resources, world-class infrastructure and skilled workforce, we're positioned to be a crucial part of Prime Minister Modi's ‘Purvodaya Yojana' vision for eastern India," he said.
The delegates in the roadshow included prominent industry leaders, investors, the Odia diaspora and special invitees. Stating that the Odisha team's Singapore visit was highly successful, Majhi said he visited modern ports and industrial complexes and gained valuable insights to enhance Odisha's development.
The roadshow featured high-level meetings with prominent companies including Linde, Vena Energy, CapitaLand and Micron. Discussions focused on investments in chemicals, petrochemicals, metals, IT and textiles sectors.
Industries minister Sampad Chandra Swain highlighted the state's transformation into India's ‘skill capital' through global collaborations, including partnerships with Singapore's Institute of Technical Education and Education Services (ITEES).
The Odisha delegation also held strategic discussions with Singapore's transport minister Chee Hong Tat, focusing on developing integrated multimodal logistics solutions and coastal shipping infrastructure.
Key participating companies included Agrocorp International, Aurionpro Payment Solutions, Surbana Jurong and Yongnam Engineering Pte Ltd.
State govt invited investors to participate in the upcoming ‘Utkarsh Odisha — Make in Odisha Conclave 2025," positioning it as a platform for future partnerships.
The delegation's visit included tours of the Port of Singapore Authority and meetings with Enterprise Singapore and Ficci, aimed at studying best practices in port management and logistics operations. "The focus was on identifying strategies that can be implemented in Odisha to enhance the efficiency of its own ports. By adopting these advanced practices, Odisha aims to strengthen its port infrastructure and drive a port-led economic growth model, thus positioning it as a crucial logistics hub in India," a govt officer said.
