Teacher facing sexual battery charges after alleged inappropriate contact with students
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Hardeman County teacher is facing multiple charges after being accused of repeatedly making inappropriate contact with his students.
Jason Childers, a teacher at Middleton Middle School was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure, one count of aggravated sexual battery and four counts of simple assault.
On November 1, Childers was accused of touching a student’s back and sliding his hand down her backside until he made contact with her buttock.
That same day, Childers is accused of rubbing and touching another student’s back on shoulders on different occasions. She also said that on one occasion, while obeying an instruction from Childers to exit the classroom, he grabbed her by the arm and “forcibly” escorted her into the hallway.
On November 4, a student disclosed that Childers allegedly grabbed her thigh/inner thigh area while taking her cell phone from her lap and continued to grab the area after he had possession of her phone.
She also said that Childers would routinely rub her and other female students’ backs and arms.
On November 5, a student disclosed that Childers without her consent allegedly glided his hand up and down her back and shoulders while in his class.
That same day, Childers was accused of wrapping his arms around a student’s waist without her consent while she was walking down a hallway at school.

On November 6, a student accused Childers of grabbing her around her waist without her consent and pushing her toward one side of the hallway. The student said that while his hands were around her waist, he slid them upwards just below her breast.
On November 14, a student disclosed that Middleton Middle School teacher, Jason Childers, had allegedly touched her buttock with his hand.
The student said that the incident occurred before her 13th birthday.
An investigation revealed that Childers often showed female students affection and often referred to them as “darlin'”, “baby girl”, “sugar”, “baby” and other pet names.
All of Childers victims are between 12 and 14-years-old.
Childers has also been charged with simple possession of Sch 6 narcotics and tampering with evidence after officials say he was caught with a marijuana cigarette during a traffic stop on November 18.
