Woman in Wisconsin arrested for 7th OWI after deputy determines she was under the influence of a controlled substance

PARDEEVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – A woman in central Wisconsin was arrested early Tuesday morning for her 7th offense of operating under the influence of a controlled substance.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office posted about a recent OWI arrest on its Facebook page. On November 19 around 12:25 a.m., a deputy saw a vehicle driving with an expired out of state registration.

The deputy then reportedly tried to pull the vehicle over, but it allegedly failed to stop and continued for several blocks. The vehicle ended up pulling into a driveway and parked, according to the release.

Officials say the deputy contacted the driver, who was identified as a 58-year-old woman from Pardeeville. The woman reportedly showed signs of impairment.

An OWI investigation was started and the woman was determined to be under the influence. The release mentioned that the woman told the deputy she didn’t pull over right away because she wanted to get the vehicle home.

She was reportedly arrested and taken to the Columbia County Jail on the following charges:

  • Operating restricted controlled substance (7th offense)

  • Operating after revocation – OWI related

  • Fail to install ignition interlock device

  • Resisting officer/failing to stop

  • Possession of drug paraphernlia.

Authorities also mentioned that impaired driving continues to be a major issue in Columbia County.
