Gaya: A group of 12 NCC cadets hailing from Gaya, Ara, Buxar, Biharsharif, Aurangabad and Rohtas districts set off for a 270-km bicycle rally on Tuesday. The cadets will spread the message of cleanliness, ‘beti bachao, beti padhao', environment conservation, pollution control, road safety and national unity during the rally across south Bihar districts.
The rally will conclude at Ara on Sunday. Commandant of Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya flagged off the rally in the OTA campus, organized under the aegis of All Gaya Group, including 6 and 27 Bihar battalions of NCC.
OTA deputy commandant Major General Jai Vishwas, Gaya group commander Brigadier Ramnaresh, commanding officers of NCC 6, 27 and 42 battalions—Col Pankaj Kumar, Col Amar Parker and Col DS Malik respectively—were also present on the occasion. The programme was attended by 670 cadets.
