Nagpur: Constable Aniruddha Sahashrabudhe of Tehsil police station, was seriously injured after a fleeing motorist rammed into his bike before dragging it to a distance while trying to flee from the spot late on Saturday evening. Two more civilians were also injured, and a few two-wheelers and couple of house were damaged, in the process.
A group of youngsters was heading towards Mominpura in a car when cops gestured for them to stop. The youngsters fled towards Mominpura Chowk from the Bhagwar Layout side, with the cops chasing them. Sahashrabudhe tried to intercept the car when the youngsters drove it in the reverse direction. Sahashrabudhe, who was parking his bike, was dragged by the car and left injured. The car, in its attempt to flee, damaged a few bikes and also rammed into a couple of houses, damaging them. The motorists also rendered two persons, Waheed Khan and Mohd Shahbaz, injured.
The public intercepted the car and started thrashing the youngsters, who were rescued and rushed to the Mayo Hospital, where they were recuperating. An offence was registered against Sanket Kanhere, Rahul Raut, one Sohel Khan, and a minor. While Kanhere and Raut were nabbed, Khan managed to flee the place.
